I don’t know about you but I need hugs from my family and friends. Life has a way of knocking you down now and then and a nice hug from family and friends will bring you right out of your depression and put you on the right path the Angels want you to be on. I do not know what I would have done without the protection of the Angels. They are always here for me. It’s so comforting to know they are holding me up with I feel sad. Which isn’t too often. The Angels have gifted me after all my struggles and tribulations through the years. I feel so happy and content in this part of my life and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I hope you have the best day ever. Life is too short to waste it. Love life and embrace it with all you have. Love others and do to them as you want things done to you. Send love everywhere. Tell your family and friends you love them all the time. Hug them when you have the chance. Keep them close. Be kind to everyone. Send nothing but love out to the Universe and it will come back at you tenfold. Thank God every day for the blessings she/he is giving you each and every day. Love life and be happy. You deserve it. You have earned it. Let yourself go and embrace the love surrounding you. Don’t be afraid. Enjoy Life!!!

Although many people often associate chia seeds with the infamous ch-ch-ch-chia pet, their purpose goes beyond a ceramic puppy planter. Chia seeds are powerful little bundles that can offer serious health benefits. Here are 6 reasons to consider adding more chia into your diet.

6 Reasons:

Nutrient rich. For such a tiny seed, chia packs a mighty punch. They are very high in fiber, high in protein, high in healthy and hard-to-find omega-3 fatty acids, and are even a good source of calcium and phosphorus. That’s in a single, tablespoon serving. All of these nutrients are packed into a lean little powerhouse, making chia an excellent go-to snack when you need energy.

Antioxidants. Due to an incredibly high quantity of phenols, chia seeds have incredible anti-inflammatory properties. A study in Mexico showed that they have the potential to thwart a huge amount of free radical damage. If you’re looking to prevent inflammatory damage like premature skin aging, try adding in some chia.

Improve digestion. With a high amount of fiber, chia promotes regularity and a healthy stool. Its gel-like consistency when soaked can also support the growth of beneficial probiotics in the gut. Your gut bacteria are essential to your health and can even influence your weight and immune system, so it’s important to support them in any way you can.

Fights cancer. Alpha linoleic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid found in chia, has actually been shown in studies to limit the growth of cancer cells in both breast and cervical cancers. While the research needs to be continued, getting more omega-3s in your diet is generally a beneficial idea, as it also largely aids heart health.

Prevent diabetes. Chia seeds are loaded with fiber and healthy fats, which combine to balance blood sugar levels. However, there have been some fascinating studies demonstrating chia’s ability to prevent metabolic disorders like insulin resistance, perhaps due to its high ALA content. Chia was shown to prevent the onset of insulin resistance in mice fed a sugar-rich diet, and was shown to reverse insulin resistance in mice that had already developed the condition. What a great reason to enjoy some chia!

Improve energy and metabolism. Chia seeds aren’t laden with sugar, but have actually been shown to have the same energizing benefits as a sugar-heavy sports drink. A study published in the Journal of Strength & Conditioning showed that chia was as effective as sports drinks for endurance activities lasting over 90 minutes. Although chia may not have a huge impact on shorter workouts, it’s still a smart choice to fuel up pre-workout while improving metabolism and weight maintenance.

Chia seeds boast numerous health benefits. So, what’s a great way to consume chia seeds? Chia pudding, of course! Let 2 tablespoons of chia soak in 2 cups of milk (half coconut, half cashew is a good call) overnight. Chop in freshly diced mango or berries, maple syrup, pecans, and/or some vanilla extract, and enjoy! A delicious, healthy breakfast pudding sure to brighten up any morning.

Jimmy has a tough time with fleas. His vets say that he is allergic to them. Every yearwe give him an allergy shot. He starts pulling his hair out so bad that I am surprised hehas any left. Here is a natural remedy I came across that might help you control the fleasyou have in your home.

Remove Fleas Using Table Salt

Cats and dogs love to romp in the grass and bushes…and then they bring stowaways into the house. Fleas love to settle in your carpeting and furniture. If you have fleas in your home, this is a chemical-free way to get them to go…

If you have fleas in your home, vacuum (at least once a week) all the areas where your pet hangs out. Then sprinkle common table salt in all of those same places, and after 48 hours, vacuum again. Repeat the procedure—sprinkle salt, and 48 hours later, vacuum. Hopefully by then, the vacuum will have sucked up all the original fleas and those that hatched during the four-day salting.

Good day my loving Family…with cold and flu season well on it’s way here in the states, here are a few remedy’s for a sore and scratchy throat.

Follow This Great Recipe

Garlic – Gargle 2x daily with a solution of 6 pressed garlic cloves mixed into a glass of warm water(not hot). Take for 3 days. Garlic has natural anti-microbial properties that fight bacteria.

Salt Water – Gargle with a solution of 1 tsp. salt to 8oz. warm water to aid in relieving a sore throat.

Spice Tea with Honey and Lemon – Mix a clove bud(clove ia also a natural antiseptic and fights infection) with 1/4 tsp.powdered ginger root and 1/8 tsp of cinnamon(used to fight inflammation). Juice of 1/2 a lemon. Infuse the tea with 2 cups of boiling water. Stir in 4 tsp.of honey(soothes irritation). Sip throughout the day until your throat feels better*

Our Front Yard Vegetable Garden

We planted tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, okra. We had lettuce and have gone through them. We also have two blueberry bushes. All the sun is in our front yard so we decided to see if we could have some vegetables this summer in our front yard beds. In February we are going to have a portable potato bed in a container. Really having fun this year with our yard. You can too.
