Denzel Washington, and Brooks Army Medical Center

I don’t know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and
his family visited the troops at  Brook
Army  Medical  Center , in  San Antonio, Texas, (BAMC) the other
day. This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from  Germany come to be
hospitalized in the  United States , especially burn victims.
There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses.  The Fisher House is a
Hotel where soldiers’ families can stay, for little or
no charge, while their soldier is staying in the
Hospital.  BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can
imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.
While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the
Fisher Houses.  He asked how much one of them
would cost to build.  He took his check book
out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot.
The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and
want to get the word out to the American public,
because it warmed their hearts to hear it. The
question is – why do: Britney Spears, Lindy Lohan, Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise
and other Hollywood fluff make front page news with their
ridiculous antics and Denzel Washington’s Patriotism
doesn’t even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the
Local newspaper in  San Antonio                          .
A true American and friend to all in uniform! This needs as wide a
distribution as we can create. Please  share it!  Copy and paste this article and
send it to all your friends.

Thank you

Thank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.

    To all

    Good story, not quite TRUE,

yes in 2004 Mr. Washington did visit BAMC and did unltimely make a sizeable donation, albiet to close to enough for building a new facility.

I personally find it amazing that with the Internet right at anyones finger tips that basic fact checking is never done.

Instead the person who forwards this exhorts us to call out the media as if this is even a NEW story. The visit was in 2004.

My God we teach young people how to do research. And here we are passing on inneundo without at mininum looking into the story. I read the news everyday, multiple sources. I believe I would have seen this somewhare if it were recent.

I am embarassed for us. Sorry for the rant, but it just makes me mad, it just like watching an old Tarzan movie when the natives see an airplane and start shouting “Silver Bird”.

Pama, you I don’t know but I implore you *** please *** fact check before suggesting that somehow the media purposely missed this and doesn’t want use to look good. It makes us look bad otherwise.

Thank you Michael, for bringing that to my attention. I am leaving your comment up so people will check this out for themselves. It was given to me by a friend and I thought it worthy of posting the story. I should have checked it out further myself.
